If you need to spend more than the current monthly pre-tax contribution limit for commuter benefits each month, you may also elect to contribute additional funds on a post-tax basis.
How Does it Work?
The post-tax funds are deducted from your paycheck after taxes have been applied. These additional funds are added to a separate post-tax commute account for you. The accounts will be linked such that funds will be used automatically if your commuter expenses exceed the pre-tax limit or if funds are not available in your pre-tax account.
